The Georgian cigarettes will rise in price

The company «Agro Prospect» (Kiev) — Company British-American Tobacco – Ukraine »has brought charge of Georgia that it breaks a trading mode.

In the Ministry of Economics of Ukraine the statement for this fact and after that economic department of Ukraine has put forward claims to the WTO has arrived.

As a result the government of Georgia has been compelled to fix legislatively equal rates of the duty, both for import tobacco products, and that are made on territory of the country. The Georgian tobacco companies have reacted to an innovation sharply negatively.

The director of Georgian company Best Tobacco, whose production is a ruler of cigarettes MT, Super, "Kolhi", "Chibuhi", "Tonic", has noticed that increase of the excise for the domestic Georgian manufacturer means losses and curtailment of production.

The head of the company «Georgian tobacco» which is the manufacturer of cigarettes of "Pirveli", "Daniel", "Konferans" and "Insklap", considers that the excise increase will automatically strike on cheap cigarettes. The prices for tobacco products will begin from 1,5 chests for a pack. Local manufacture will appear under the threat of closing.

The general director of company OGT considers that at present at low excise rates on local tobacco contraband is shown to a minimum. The excise increase will generate a wave of illegal deliveries that, in turn, will negatively affect receipt of means in the budget.

Cigarettes rise in price

Ukrainians are expected again by a rise in price of cigarettes. But this time the excise because of which the rise in price has occurred earlier, is not guilty. According to Oleg Minashkina, the director of the Kremenchug branch of company "Деметра", one of suppliers of tobacco in our city, the raw materials have risen in price. Almost all marks of cigarettes will rise in price approximately for three grivnas.
At first 80 % of all assortment will go up in price, of 20 % will catch up with others in some weeks. But suppliers of cigarettes not so worry that smokers with such prices becomes less.
— People, both smoked, and will smoke, – the director of branch speaks. – the only thing that has already changed – people have started to buy cheaper marks. There was a demand for cigarettes without the filter.

Altria 2Q profit and cooperation. hikes forecast reductions help offset the decline in cigarette

While Americans bought fewer cigarettes in the second quarter profit rose 9 percent in Altria Group Inc, the owner of the nation's largest cigarette maker, Philip Morris USA, the company has reduced costs and integrated the recently acquired a kettle of smokeless tobacco.
